Meet the Collies Needing Homes... List last updated December 1, 2003. BAILEYSex: neutered Male Color: Tri Color Age: 11 years Rescued: July, 2003 Bio: Bailey was an owner give-up. His coat, which had to be shaved because he was so matted, is growing back nicely and he is becoming a very handsome boy. Bailey lived a lonely life all by himself in a small back yard, never allowed in the house although he is completely housebroken. He is a very loving, playful, sweet collie who seems much younger than his years. He gets along well with other dogs and adores cats. He is an oldie but a goodie and still has lots of love to give. BUDDYSex: neutered Male, Color: Blue Merle Age: 7 months Rescued: October, 2003 Bio: Buddy, a blue merle smooth collie mix, was rescued from a shelter. He's still a puppy, only 7 months old, and has lots of energy. He's a sweet, eager, affectionate boy and wants to please, but he needs some training. Most of all he needs confidence, reassurance and love, since up to now he has not had much of a life. A small investment of time and attention in Buddy will yield huge dividends. He would make a good agility dog as he is very active. He is looking for that special someone to teach him all the things he should of learned months ago. Contact Vicky at 505 393-5006 for more information. ANDREW & FERGIESex: Male/Female both fixed Color: Sable and White Age: Both 10 years Rescued: November 2003 Bio: Andrew (left) and Fergie were rescued near Amarillo. They are adjusting well to life without their owner, who dumped them. Both have health issues that will soon be overcome: Andrew is being treated for heartworm, and Fergie has a thyroid condition that is easily remedied with inexpensive medication. The two collies have lived together all their lives. Both are sweet and gentle with new people. Andrew is the more anxious one, thin and a bit henpecked. Fergie, the more dominant one, loves attention and affection. Our first thought was that they need to be placed together; now we're not so sure. There is some marital bickering, though they might be lost without each other. Contact Lee for more information at 505-989-3530. PRANCERSex: spayed Female, Color: Sable and White Age: 4 years Rescued: October, 2003 Bio: Prancer was turned in by her owner. Prancer was left alone in a back yard and neglected. She was matted and filthy when she came to us; now that she's been groomed you can see what a pretty girl she is. Prancer is smart, eager to please and very loving. She really enjoys being in the house and playing with toys. Contact Vicki at 505-523-7209.
